Make two short lists
Use one list for indoor jobs and another for outdoor work. Include a photo and a short description for each task. This makes it easier to see which tools, materials and access arrangements may be involved.
Mention materials you already have
If you have replacement handles, a shelf kit or flat-pack furniture ready to go, include the details. Check that all parts are available. Do not buy specialist parts just to guess what might be needed.
Think about access between areas
Explain how the work areas connect. A locked side gate, pets, stairs or a room full of furniture can all change the order in which tasks are approached.
Agree on the scope first
A combined enquiry does not guarantee everything can be done in one visit. Confirm the work included, any materials or waste removal, the quote and a suitable time before booking.
Leave specialist jobs on their own list
Mention electrical, plumbing, structural or other specialist concerns separately. They may need a suitably qualified or licensed trade and should not be assumed to fall within a general handyman visit.
