Start with the problem, not just the item
“Cupboard door” leaves a lot to guess. “The kitchen cupboard door drops when opened and catches on the drawer below” gives someone a clearer starting point. Work through your rooms and write one sentence for each job.
Take two photos per job
A close-up shows the fitting or damage. A wider photo shows where it sits and how accessible it is. Avoid including personal documents, people or valuables that do not need to be in the picture. You can email photos after sending the quote form.
Separate repairs from installations
For a repair, explain what has changed. For a new fitting, include product instructions, dimensions and the surface it will attach to. For furniture assembly, send the model and number of items.
Put your priorities in order
Mark the essential tasks first, followed by jobs that can wait. Mention any preferred completion date, such as a move or visitors arriving, without assuming the date is available.
Include access and permissions
Your suburb, property type, parking and any stairs help with planning. If you rent or the work affects shared property, confirm permission with the owner or manager before booking.
