What to include when asking for a lawn mowing quote

Two lawns that look similar from the street can involve quite different work. These details help make a mowing enquiry clearer.

Show the whole lawn

Photograph the front and back areas separately. Include approximate dimensions if you can, and mention whether the photos show the current grass height. Point out patches that are especially long or difficult to reach.

Describe equipment access

A narrow side gate, steps or a sloping block can affect the equipment needed. Share the gate width if it is tight, and mention whether the back lawn has a separate entrance.

List the finishing tasks

Do you also want edging along paths and garden beds? Does the paved area need clipping clean-up? Describe the finish you want so it can be discussed as part of the quote.

Explain your clipping preferences

Say whether you have an appropriate garden-waste bin, want to discuss mulching or need removal included. Confirm the arrangement rather than assuming every quote includes the same waste handling.

One visit or an ongoing arrangement?

State whether this is a one-off tidy-up or an enquiry about regular care. Any repeat schedule should be discussed around your lawn, growth, weather and availability.
